Initiatives for Conservation of Biodiversity Back Number (2014)
Back to Latest Initiatives for Conservation of Biodiversity
Basic Approach
In FY2012, the Minebea Group revised its Environmental Policy and added "contribution to the international community" as a new initiative. As part of the initiative, we recognize that our business activities may have an effect on biodiversity and ecosystems, and we will work to conserve nature. As a first step, recognizing the importance of understanding the impact of our business activities, we are conducting research on how the Minebea Group's business relates to biodiversity.
Participation in Wildlife Protection Project (Thailand)
In Thailand, active initiatives are being taken to restore forest habitats for wildlife, including the planting of forage crops and the construction of water catchments to supply drinking water. Many employees of the Group's Thai plants are volunteering for these activities.
In FY2013, employees of the Lop Buri Plant took part in forestry conservation campaign at Sublungka Wildlife Sanctuary held July 21. Employees of the plant also collected and donated 10,000 baht as a scholarship for schoolchildren at Ratbamrung school inside the sanctuary.
