The integration with Minebea Power Semiconductor Devices (MPSD, renamed from Hitachi Power Semiconductor Device) will enable us to acquire modular technology and back-end process technology, and so on. However, the biggest “Difference" that we gain is the special side-gate IGBT technology that enables performance very close to that of SiC. Currently, we are conducting development activities in response to requests from various customers.
We would also like to work on INTEGRATION, as noted on the right side of the slide.
For example, I have also heard that we can acquire and phase in MPSD's motor driver talent for high voltage motors, which we have been unable to do for a long time.
In addition, chips or modules can be utilized for mid-power or high-power power supplies, which has been a weakness of our power supply division in the past.
The problem is that MPSD's operating margin is too low.
With a view to raising the operating margin as soon as possible, this month we will hold a training camp among management, which we have always held after the management integration to discuss various issues. We would like to focus closely on the very first step so as not to make a mistake in the direction we head for and also work to overcome the problems.
