MinebeaMitsumi Announces Collaborative Solar Power Generation and Battery Storage Project in Thailand at the 3rd AZEC Ministerial Meeting 2025
MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (Head office: Nagano Prefecture; Representative Director, Chairman CEO: Yoshihisa Kainuma; hereinafter "MinebeaMitsumi") announced its collaborative solar power generation and battery storage project in Thailand at the MOU ceremony of the 3rd AZEC Ministerial Meeting 2025, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 17, 2025.
To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, MinebeaMitsumi is proactively installing and operating solar power generation facilities across the Group's sites and using renewable energy. On May 10, 2024, MinebeaMitsumi decided to operate solar power generation projects with the aim of increasing renewable energy procurement and reducing electricity costs and CO2 emission at its plants in Thailand.
In collaboration with Super Energy, a private power producer in Thailand, MinebeaMitsumi aims to operate a total of 152 MW-scale solar power generation project in Bang Pa-in, Ayutthaya Province and Lopburi Province for 25 years. This project's goal is to convert 38% power used at the Lopburi Plant in Bang Pa-In to renewable energy. The project introduces a large battery storage that helps minimizing surplus power, thereby realizing an efficient operation of solar power generation project.
Under the corporate philosophy, "To contribute to realization of a sustainable, eco-friendly and prosperous society by providing better products, at a faster speed, in larger numbers, at a lower cost and by smarter means," MinebeaMitsumi stays committed to further promoting renewable energy and building a sustainable society.
