MinebeaMitsumi Delivers a Keynote Speech at Expo 2025
- Disseminating the company's sustainability initiatives to
the next-generation in Japan and ASEAN Region -

The Director, President COO & CFO of MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (Head office: Nagano Prefecture, Representative Director, Chairman & CEO: Yoshihisa Kainuma, hereinafter referred to as "MinebeaMitsumi"), Mr. Katsuhiko Yoshida took the stage as a keynote speaker at a program titled "The Future I Want to See: Smart, Sustainable, and Inclusive Communities in ASEAN, Japan and Beyond" at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter "Expo 2025)'s Theme Weeks Studio. The program welcomed the audience of approximately 70 people, including international students from Asia.

Co-organized by ASEAN secretariat and ASEAN-Japan Centre as a program aligned with one of Expo 2025's Theme Weeks, "The Future of Mobility and Community Week," the program placed smart technology, sustainability, and inclusivity at its core, aiming to foster discussions on how to build a sustainable and inclusive future through multi-level cooperation between Japan and ASEAN.

MinebeaMitsumi's manufacturing and R&D sites in the ASEAN region now total 23 and account for nearly an half of the entire MinebeaMitsumi group's production. Notably, the company began manufacturing in Singapore in 1972, Thailand in 1980, and Cambodia in 2010. Furthermore, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by March 2031 compared to 2023, MinebeaMitsumi group has recently been working as one team toward a sustainable future. One of the key initiative is the installation of on-site solar power generation systems for self-consumption, utilizing the vacant space on the premises of its sites in the ASEAN region.

In this keynote speech, President Yoshida also presented details of MinebeaMitsumi's sponsorship and exhibition for Expo 2025 as part of the company's efforts to contribute to environmental solutions, a healthy society, and the advancement of telemedicine, in addition to the previously mentioned business operations and environmental initiatives launched across the ASEAN region.

In the succeeding panel discussion, held under the theme "Building a smart, sustainable, and inclusive society," President Yoshida spoke about challenges and potential solutions in promoting sustainability in the ASEAN region, as well as the importance of collaboration with local governments and communities.

Guided by the corporate philosophy, "To contribute to realization of a sustainable, eco-friendly and prosperous society by providing better products, at a faster speed, in larger numbers, at a lower cost and by smarter means," MinebeaMitsumi group will stay committed to addressing social issues through its global businesses and environmental initiatives.
