Minebeamitsumi is selected for the first time as an A-list company, the highest rating in the CDP 2025 "Climate Change" category
MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (Head Office: Nagano Prefecture; Representative Director, Chairman, CEO, Yoshihisa Kainuma, hereinafter referred to as MinebeaMitsumi) has been selected for the first time as an A-list company, the highest rating in the "Climate Change" category conducted by international non-profit organization CDP*, and received an A- rating in "Water security" category. In 2024, 24,800 companies worldwide disclosed environmental data through CDP, with 461 companies achieving an A-list company in the "Climate Change" category.
As addressing climate change and other issues becomes an urgent challenge both domestically and internationally, we have positioned our QCDESS® strategy, focusing on Quality, Cost, Delivery, Eco, Efficiency, Service, and Speed, as the foundation for our 100th anniversary in 2051, with an emphasis on Eco and Efficiency. Among our material issues (materiality), we highlight "contributing to solutions to global environmental issues." We aim to "minimize environmental impact by expanding use of renewable energy and other measures" and, by leveraging our greatest strength, ultra-precision machining technology, "reduce global CO2 emissions through environmentally friendly products." To achieve the targets certified by SBT (Science Based Targets) in October 2024, we have also newly formulated the "MMI Roadmap toward a Decarbonized Society."
MinebeaMitsumi will integrate, organize, systematize, and accelerate various initiatives, pursuing both environmental impact reduction and corporate value enhancement as a united company.
* CDP is a non-profit organization established in the United Kingdom in 2000, and cooperates with institutional investigators to require companies and cities to disclose strategies and data on climate change, water, and forests, and other issues. By 2025, over 24,800 companies worldwide (representing two-thirds of the global market capitalization) disclosed information through CDP and were rated on an eight-tier scale ranging from "A" to "D-".
