Notice regarding Start of Construction of MinebeaMitsumi Pursat Plant in Cambodia
-Plans to manufacture machined components using 100% renewable energy in the Kingdom of Cambodia-

MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (Head Office: Nagano Prefecture, Representative Director Chairman, CEO: Yoshihisa Kainuma, hereinafter MinebeaMitsumi) hereby inform that we held a groundbreaking ceremony for the MinebeaMitsumi Cambodia Pursat Plant was held on September 20th at the factory construction site in Krakor District, Pursat Province, Kingdom of Cambodia, where we announced land acquisition on May 10th, 2024.

MinebeaMitsumi expanded business in Cambodia's Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (PPSEZ) in 2010 as the country's first manufacturer of precision electronic components. We established a plant in PPSEZ in December 2011 and continued to expand, producing a wide range of MinebeaMitsumi products, including bearings and small motors. Since its establishment, our Cambodia plant has been working to contribute to the local community by creating employment opportunities, improving the living environment of employees, and human resource development through the manufacture of a variety of electronic components. By utilizing solar power generation, which is scheduled to start operating by January 2026, we plan to achieve renewable energy by using electricity generated in-house to meet the entire amount of electricity needed by our plants in Cambodia.

We have decided to construct our Pursat plant in Cambodia with the aim of preparing for expansion in products such as PMC products (Precision Mechanical Assemblies etc.) whose markets are expected to grow along with our business expansion. The plant will not only be carbon-neutral, but will also utilize our vertically-integrated production system and automatic equipment in cooperation with our Phnom Penh plant. Our best practices will be assembled in the Pursat plant, which will guide the growth of Precision Technologies Business Headquarters moving forward. We are planning to commence the partial operation during the fiscal year ending March 2026.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by approximately 700 persons including H.E. Mr. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, H.E. Mr. Keo Rottanak, Minister, Ministry of Mines and Energy of Cambodia, Mr. Kensuke Nagase, Embassy of Japan in Cambodia etc.
H.E. Mr. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia commented "The MinebeaMitsumi's second factory in Cambodia reflects their successful business in Cambodia since they came Cambodia 14 years ago," "It will be a good model to attract other foreign investors to consider investment for Cambodia."

Also, Yoshihisa Kainuma, Representative Director Chairman, CEO of MinebeaMitsumi commented "Since MinebeaMitsumi first expanded into the Kingdom of Cambodia, we have continued to grow together with Cambodia for the past 14 years. We are very pleased and proud to be able to develop new business activities in Pursat as a cornerstone for the further development of Cambodia and Minebeamitsumi. In Cambodia, we are also going to start our in-house solar power generation business, and we plan to use clean energy to cover all the electricity used in our production processes at our Phnom Penh factory and Pursat factory. We hope to develop this new plant in Pursat into a major production base for our precision mechanical components."

MinebeaMitsumi will continue to grow as a one and only comprehensive precision components manufacturer, contributing to the prosperous development of international society by creating new value and components that are indispensable to society.

About the Phnom Penh plant

In December 2010, the MinebeaMitsumi Cambodia Phnom Penh plant received a license to operate as the first precision motor manufacturer in Cambodia. After starting small-scale production at a rental factory in the PPSEZ on April 1, 2011, the first plant began full-scale production activities in the new premises located in the PPSEZ on December 17, 2011.
In the time following, operations commenced in a second plant in 2013 and in a third plant in December 2016, and currently produce miniature and small ball bearings, stepping motors used in OA equipment, brush DC motors for AV equipment, etc. and smart LED road lights.
Further, since 2019, we have been supporting the national team as an official partner of the Cambodian National Football Team.
