MinebeaMitsumi Inc.
MinebeaMitsumi's Hamamatsu Laboratory Accredited
to the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025
MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (Head office: Nagano Prefecture; Representative Director, Chairman CEO: Yoshihisa Kainuma; hereinafter "MinebeaMitsumi") is pleased to announce that the Hamamatsu Plant's Reliability Test Section, Quality Control Department, Quality Control Division of the Quality Assurance Headquarters (hereinafter "Hamamatsu Reliability Section) has obtained the accreditation as an in-house testing laboratory* under international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (JIS Q 17025:2018) (hereinafter "ISO/IEC 17025") covering environmental test standards and automotive EMC test standards.
ISO/IEC 17025 is a rigorous international standard under which a third-party organization accredits a facility's competence to perform specific testing and calibration. This accreditation objectively proves that the quality control system and technology capabilities of Hamamatsu Reliability Test Section operates at a globally recognized high standard.
The testing report issued by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory becomes multilaterally valid based on the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (commonly called "MRA"). It significantly helps reduce the development time and cost in commercialization or productization for MinebeaMitsumi's clients, such as automakers, especially since even most non-MRA signatory countries accept the testing report 17025.
ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratories are required to operate in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories)
Hamamatsu Reliability Test Section professionally conducts the quality assurance testing for MinebeaMitsumi Group's electronic precision components such as automotive applications. Such testing includes environmental tests to evaluate component tolerance under extreme conditions like intense cold, and EMC test to measure electromagnetic noise emitted by electronic devices as well as their immunity to external interference, ensuring the safety and reliability of automotive systems.
To fulfill the commitment, MinebeaMitsumi will continue to maintain its facility at the same high standards as accredited testing laboratories.
*Commercial service is not available (limited to companies within the group)
