Commencement of Soil Purification Measures at our former Ichinoseki Plant
This is to announce that environment pollutants such as trichloroethylene have been found to remain in part of our former Ichinoseki Plant, which was closed due to the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, located at 2-chome, Yamame-cho, Ichinoseki-shi, Iwate Prefecture, as a result of a further investigation conducted in preparation for the demolition of the factory building, as shown below, though the soil purification measures there were completed in 2011.
We have decided to complete the ongoing investigation of the plant by the end of this August and to implement the countermeasures immediately thereafter.
Trichloroethylene | from | less than 0.003 | up to 280 mg/l |
---|---|---|---|
Cis-1,2-dichloroethylene | from | less than 0.004 | up to 32 mg/l |
Chloroethylene | from | less than 0.0002 | up to 1.0 mg/l |
The countermeasures will be promptly taken under the guidance of Iwate Prefecture while communicating with neighboring residents.
There is no impact on the performance of MINEBEA MITSUMI Inc. regarding this incident.
