Minebea's Chinese Subsidiaries Obtain OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001:1996 Certification
Minebea Electronics & Hi-Tech Components (Shanghai) Ltd.-Minebea Co., Ltd. (Minebea)'s Chinese subsidiary- and, Shanghai Shunding Technologies Ltd.-Minebea's joint venture company in China-obtained the following certifications.

The OHSAS 18001 certification of Chinese subsidiaries follows the certification of all Thailand subsidiaries (registered in September 2004) and Singapore subsidiaries (registered in October 2004). This means that all major production sites of the Minebea group are certified OHSAS 18001.
OHSAS stands for the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series. Although OHSAS 18001 does not become an international standard yet, this Standard is aimed at improving business performance by minimizing OH&S risks, reflecting the recent growing worldwide interest in OH&S management systems. Plans for globalizing it in the future are now under consideration. In addition, more and more companies have been requesting their suppliers to obtain OHSAS 18001 certification.
