Notification of Unauthorized Access to File Servers (Updated)
As announced on our corporate website in the statement titled "Notification of Unauthorized Access to File Server" dated March 18, 2025, our network was subjected to a cyberattack from an external source.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience and concern caused to those of our customers and stakeholders potentially affected by this incident. We are currently working with external cyber security experts to determine the root cause, the extent of any damage, and any other potential impact of the unauthorized access. The status of our investigation and response measures as of April 10th is as follows.
1. Overview of the Incident
On March 11, 2025, we detected unauthorized access and a malicious attack by a third party on file servers at our specific sites. In response, we immediately implemented emergency measures, isolating the affected servers from the network and blocking external connections from within the company. At the same time, we began an investigation in collaboration with external security experts to identify the cause, assess the extent of the damage, and determine the impact.
During the course of the above investigation, we discovered that there was a possibility that some of our corporate data, including personal data, may have been leaked. In response, we consulted with external legal and other experts, published the notice referenced above, and reported the incident to both the police and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
2. Information Potentially Disclosed Externally and Our Response
We are continuing to investigate the specific details of the information that may have been disclosed externally as a result of this incident. Based on what we have identified as of now, the types of information listed below may have been leaked. Should any additional potential disclosures be confirmed in the future, we will promptly report the details and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Personal Information
- Personal information of certain customers and business partners of MinebeaMitsumi group, including names, addresses, company's names, job titles, phone numbers, email addresses.
- Personal information of certain shareholders and former shareholders of MinebeaMitsumi, including names, addresses, number of shares held.
- Personal information of our certain employees including names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses.
The total number of records currently estimated to may have been leaked is approximately 160,000 at maximum.

Non-personal Information

3. Impact of the Incident
All network security inspections have been completed, and all systems are currently operating securely and without issue. As of today, there is no evidence of any impact on our business operations or any specific secondary damage, such as unauthorized use of information, resulting from this incident. Our customers and business partners are not required to take any specific action at this time.
4. Cause of the Information Leak and Future Measures
The cause of this incident was unauthorized access by a third party illicitly connecting to our network equipment via VPN and infiltrating our internal systems. We have identified the intrusion route as well as the servers affected by this unauthorized access. With the cooperation of external legal counsel and cybersecurity experts, we are carrying out a detailed review of the information that was potentially leaked, and will report the final scope of the damage and measures to prevent recurrence separately via our corporate website.
