Announcement of 9th Minebea Cup ASAMA Highland Curling Classic 2016
Minebea Co., Ltd. ("Minebea") has been supporting Minebea Cup ASAMA Highland Curling Classic for years and the 9th Minebea Cup is scheduled to be held from Friday, October 7, 2016 through Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Curling Hall Miyota (Miyota-machi, Kitasaku-gun, Nagano).
Minebea has been providing support since 2007 to a non-profit organization (NPO) called ASAMA Highland Sports Club, which manages the Curling Hall Miyota. Since 2015, Minebea Cup, co-sponsored by Minebea, has been incorporated into the World Curling Tour Development ("WCT-D") where curling teams compete to gain points for a participation in the World Curing Tour ("WCT"), an international curling competition.
In 2016, WCT-D is held again as the only tour held in Japan and 12 strong domestic curling teams get together at Miyota-machi, including the teams with the second place record, the final four record and participants of the Japan Championship and they will have heated competitions.
In addition, all games of this exciting tour are scheduled to be broadcast live on YouTube.
Minebea is committed to continuing to contribute to the amateur sports promotion and revitalization of local communities through the ongoing support for the Curling Hall Miyota.
