The Fujisawa Plant Conducts Joint Fire Drill with Fujisawa City Fire Department
On June 12, 2025, MinebeaMitsumi's Fujisawa Plant hosted an on-site inspection of its hazardous materials facilities by the Fujisawa City Fire Department, followed by a joint fire drill. These activities were carried out as part of Japan's annual "Safety of Hazardous Materials Week," which is held nationwide during the second week of June.
The purpose of this initiative is to establish a proactive safety management system within the workplace and to enhance awareness of safety issues related to hazardous materials. The drill involved members of the pump team from our company's volunteer fire brigade, which also competes in the annual Fujisawa City Firefighting Competition each October, and the fastener factory's workplace fire brigade.
The drill simulated a potential fire emergency, allowing us to practice and confirm the entire response sequence—from our initial actions and firefighting efforts to the successful handover to the municipal fire department upon their arrival.
Additionally, various fire trucks, including ladder trucks and drones, were deployed for the drill. This allowed participants to observe the fire department's full-scale firefighting operations up close. As a result, the training session was highly practical and meaningful, with a greater sense of urgency than regular drills.
This training is conducted annually by businesses in Fujisawa City, and this is the third time our company has participated. Compared to the 2018 session, we are confident that we achieved an even higher level of training.
The MinebeaMitsumi Group will continue to actively engage in disaster prevention activities in collaboration with local communities, contributing to the creation of safe and secure towns.
