Fujisawa Plant Seine netting contest and trash pickup activity
The Fujisawa Plant held a seine netting event at Kugenuma Beach in Fujisawa, Kanagawa, to promote friendship among employees and their families, and to clean up the beach.
In seine fishing, one end of a rope attached to both ends of a net is fixed to the shore, the other rope and net are loaded onto a boat, and the boat is driven offshore, the net is placed parallel to the shore, and the remaining rope is brought back to the shore. All participants worked together to pull the seine and pulled up many fish.
A total of 279 people (123 employees, 15 Fujisawa alumni, and 141 family members) from the Fujisawa Plant and other sites (Atsugi, Tokyo Headquarters, etc.) participated in the event, which was held in a barbecue style, with fish and fried noodles served and games for the children to deepen exchanges.
After filling their bellies, the participants cleaned up the area to give back to nature.
