MinebeaMitsumi Donates to the Fukuroi Hometown Disaster Prevention Donation Promotion Committee
MinebeaMitsumi, whose Hamamatsu Plant is in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, donated 1 million yen to the Fukuroi Hometown Disaster Prevention Donation Promotion Committee. Michiya Kagami, Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of MinebeaMitsumi, presented Hideyuki Harada, Mayor of Fukuroi City, with a certificate at Fukuroi City Office. This would be the 4th annual contribution which would be repeated for five years from 2015 to 2019.
Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, Fukuroi City has aimed for zero fatalities from tsunami. Under its Fukuroi Earthquake and Tsunami Action Plan 2013, it is working on disaster prevention measures such as preparing seawalls. The Fukuroi Hometown Disaster Prevention Donation Promotion Committee is actively calling on civil and regional offices for fundraising.
MinebeaMitsumi supports this mission and intends to continue to work with Fukuroi City to make sure that people are protected from worst-case scenarios.
