Yonago Plant Employees Clean up Nakaumi and Lake Shinji
Cleanup activity
Thirty eight Minebea Yonago Plant employees pitched in to help with a cleanup campaign aimed at protecting the shores of Lakes Nakaumi and Shinji. As it was a sultry day being the middle of the rainy season, everyone worked up a good sweat for a great cause. The cleanup campaign, run by Tottori and Shimane Prefectures as well as five lakeshore municipalities in the area (Yonago, Sakaiminato, Matsue, Yasugi, and Izumo), is held every June in order to clean up the lake sites that are included in the Ramsar Convention's List of Wetlands of International Importance. About 8,000 people participated this year from the five municipalities. About 1,200 people participated from Yonago, picking up a total of 6.9 tons of trash.
Minebea looks forward to taking part in similar community and environmental activities in the near future.
