Minebea's US subsidiary accepts high school students for vocational experience program

The Peterborough Plant of Minebea's US subsidiary New Hampshire Ball Bearings (NHBB) accepted nine students from nearby Conval High School as part of a four-month (February - June 2016) vocational experience program.

Called "Manufacturing Principles and Processes," this program was planned jointly by the high school and NHBB to provide technical education. The purpose is to deepen students' understanding of manufacturing and the required knowledge and skills through a two-days-a-week internship at the plant in addition to three days of classes at school.

The students gained practical experience with various tasks from working with materials to making the finished mock-ups and also learned about problem-solving and making improvements through teamwork. It was an excellent opportunity for the students to take a greater interest in manufacturing.

Minebea will continue to support educational programs such as this.
