NMB-Minebea Thai Supports the Royal Cattle Buffalo Bank for Farmers
NMB-Minebea Thai's employees collected donations in order to support Royal Cattle Buffalo Bank for Farmers. As a result, 6 cows and 5 buffalos were survived from the Ayutthaya slaughterhouse.
About the Royal Cattle Buffalo Bank for Farmers
The bank is managed by the Department of Livestock Development.
The bank was initially started by the King of Thailand's donation in 1979. Not all Thai farmers can purchase tractors and machinery for ploughing and planting due to financial reasons. For the farmers that can not afford tractors and machinery, they have to rely on animal power, such as buffalo and cattle. The bank offers a choice of method in acquiring animal power. The farmers can either purchase a buffalo or hire the animal for a nominal fee. As a result, the farmer's income have increased with the bank's support.
