Participation in the Shinshu Hometown Road Fureai Project Adopt-A-System Agreement

On Monday, March 25, 2024, the Azumino Factory of Honda Tsushin Kogyo participated in the signing ceremony of the Adopt System for Shinshu Hometown Road Fureai Project for FY2024.

From now on, the Azumino Factory will volunteer to clean sidewalks, waiting areas, hillsides, and other areas, and perform other beautification activities, as well as maintain tree planting strips and other areas, based on a tripartite agreement with the Mayor of Azumino and the Director of the Azumino Construction Office.

The Adopt System is a system in Nagano Prefecture that promotes road beautification activities, and "adapt" means "to adopt. It is named after the fact that residents lovingly take care of (clean and beautify) streets and other public spaces as if they were adopted children.

As a feature of the program, Azumino city provides effective operational support at the request of the Azumino Construction Office, and the Construction Office provides support by lending or supplying tools, materials, etc. necessary for the Azumino Factory's activities (foster parent of roads). In addition, the Azumino Factory provides insurance against accidents during activities at the expense of Nagano Prefecture, so that members of the Azumino Factory can participate in volunteer activities with peace of mind.

The Azumino Factory began its greening activities in 2011, and fiscal 2024 marks the 14th year. Initially, we planted trees and flower beds in the shape of the HTK logo mark, which became the symbol of the factory, but now, as a factory-wide activity, each department conducts weeding and trash pickup once a month in their assigned areas on the premises, and 60 to 80 volunteers participate in the activity on holidays twice a year.

In recent years, in addition to maintenance work such as planting and weeding on the grounds, we have also been involved in weeding the sidewalks adjacent to the outside of the grounds. We also pick up trash along the roads surrounding the site and participate in the Azumino City Simultaneous Cleanup. As a local company, we will continue these activities this year to preserve the rich natural landscape of Azumino City.
